Sorcerer Software DayTime March, 1994
*****************************************************************************
DayTime is a small memory resident program that in response to a
hotkey will display the current day, date, and time. In this unregistered
evaluation version, pressing the hot key combination <Ctrl-D> will cause
the DayTime screen to pop up. Pressing any other key will then restore
the underlying screen.
OPERATION:
Start DayTime by typing at the command line (DOS prompt):
DAYTIME <Enter>
You can also start DayTime from your "autoexec.bat". Enter the complete path
and filename, which must include the drive and directory where the file
"DAYTIME.COM" is kept. If the file is in your UTIL directory on drive C:,
you would place in your "autoexec.bat" this line:
C:\UTIL\DAYTIME
Once DayTime has been started by either of the above methods, it
can then be activated by pressing simultaneously the hot key
combination <Ctrl-D>.
When resident (in your computer's memory), DayTime occupies
approximately 1200 bytes. On machines configured with upper memory
blocks it may be loaded high, such as with the DOS LOADHIGH command or
with a memory manager.
If you should no longer wish to have DayTime in memory, it can be
removed by simply typing:
DAYTIME /U
The 1200 bytes of memory will then be returned to your computer's memory
bank.
LIMITATIONS:
This version of DayTime does not allow the hot key to be changed. The
registered version does allow configuration of the hot key, which can be
almost any combination of the Ctrl, Alt, or Shift keys with a
keyboard (such as a number, letter, or function) key.
page 2
DayTime should be used with caution in any program that operates in a
graphics mode, such as Prodigy, or The Print Shop. Although the program
(and DayTime) will work, the pop up screen will distort the underlying
host's screen. This is not dangerous, but is somewhat annoying. Of all
programs we tested, only the DOS EDIT and QBASIC programs will not
function with DayTime. If you use these DOS programs, do not pop up
DayTime while working in them. This is not a flaw with DayTime, but
rather a hostility these two DOS programs exhibit toward all pop up type
screens.
We have not yet found any other software incompatibilities. Please
read the enclosed file "SIXPACK.DOC".
To register DayTime and have the ability to change the hot key combination
to one of your choice, see the enclosed text file "ORDER.FRM".
Thank you for supporting shareware!
